Realme has already started to leak camera samples from the soon-to-be-released Realme 16 Pro+ 5G, giving a glimpse of the phone’s imaging output before the scheduled Indian launch on January 6. The released pictures give an impression of the device's performance in regular shooting situations, with portrait photography being the major subject of the samples.
The images give a consistent quality throughout the various locations, both indoors and outdoors. Skin tones look smooth and very close to the natural color, with no sign of overprocessing. The facial features, the fabric of clothes and the accessories are seen and this means that there has been only a little bit of editing and not volumetric correction. Bright parts, such as reflective surfaces and skin highlights, are all-in-all-well-controlled and there is no detail loss in them.
The portrait mode handling is one of the positive aspects shown in the samples. The detection of the subject in complex areas like hairs, fingers, and accessories looks very accurate. The background blur is done in such a way that it is not abrupt. The depth effect does not change whether the shot is taken in natural light or controlled indoor lighting.
Nighttime and shaded areas have also been shown as having careful control of the noise. The dark spots have been depicted as holding detail, while the brighter areas such as ambient lighting and metallic reflections are well-balanced. The samples show good dynamic range management, which is essential for portraits taken with mixed lighting to be captured under proper conditions.
The prices have not yet been confirmed but previous reports stated that the Realme 16 Pro+ 5G would cost around Rs. 43,999 in India. It is common that the printed MRP is higher than the actual market price. As a point of reference, the Realme 14 Pro+ was priced at Rs. 29,999 at launch, and the company did not produce the Realme 15 Pro+ series at all.
Realme has unwrapped the hardware details already. The Realme 16 Pro+ 5G is rumored to flaunt a rear triple camera setup comprising of a 200MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens, and a 50MP telephoto shooter. The company through the recently shared images seems to be making a strong point portrait photography in terms of color consistency, clear borders, and smooth handling of light in diverse settings.
